Introduction: Hi all, John Coonen from Crystal Lake. Looking forward to meeting you, and working on real solutions from a grass-roots level. I'm sick of what I call "partizenship" replacing citizenship in our representative government. They forgot we still matter.
Tell us about a time you got so fed up, you called or wrote your lawaker...: Dave - I not only wrote, I got involved and ran campaigns. Problem is, the more you know, the more you know the system can only be changed from the outside; not playing their same games from the inside.
Do you think you're getting your moneys-worth from state government?: If we continue to complacently ALLOW this collection of corrupted fools to run over us, without stepping up and taking a leadership role, reminding them who their bosses are, then yes, we get our moneys worth - every penny.
Do you think we'll have another big tax increase in Illinois soon?: I live in a donor county. We keep giving, they keep taking. We don't fight it hard and loud enough, and so - they keep taking. We need to take a dramatic, organized and in-your-face stand against Emil Jones, BlagoCaponovich, et al.
What is your 'favorite' wasteful pork-barrel project?: It's still coming down the slippery slide - it's called the Olympics. Remember the "corruption" issues of the Salt Lake City Games? If Chicago gets the nod, it'll make Salt Lake look like a petty jaywalking ticket got issued. PS: I'm an optimist!

If not, you might invest some time to do so as I've had great success syndicating conference info that way. I'd love to come to town in May for your event, but I'll be on an Alaskan cruise that week.
