Area residents have organized a downtown Scranton, PA Tea Party
in observance of "National Tea Party Day" on April 15, 2009
12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Lackawanna County Court House Square.
This is a time to send our message to Washington that we are
Taxed Enough Already. The massive SPENDING of our tax dollars by
Washington legislators (TARP, Bailouts, Stimulus Bill, Omnibus Bill,
the National Budget) will bankrupt our country, eliminating our ability
to recover from this recession. This is a bipartisan event as both Democratic
and Republican legislators are responsible.
Attendees are encouraged to bring signs and American Flags to the rally and demonstrate
peacefully. Several parking garages are available for a nominal fee within 1-2 blocks of
the Court House. This is a highly visible area during the downtown lunch break.
We believe we cannot spend our way out of debt! Why does our government think it can
spend its way out of debt with OUR TAX DOLLARS?
Bring your friends, family and neighbors. THIS IS YOUR COUNTRY! America is
in trouble. She needs you now.
